The Editorial Board of Acta Architectonica et Urbanistica (AAeU) is proud to announce the upcoming release of the journal’s first special issue, scheduled for publication in October 2025. This issue marks a significant moment in the development of both the journal and the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sarajevo, as it brings together authors whose outstanding professional and academic contributions have left a lasting impact on architectural theory and practice—both within Bosnia and Herzegovina and far beyond its borders. A distinctive feature of this issue is that all contributing authors began their professional journeys or academic education right here, at our Faculty.
This issue features contributions by prominent architects and professors: Ademir Volić, Adnan Harambašić, Aida Bratović, Boran Agošton, Boris Cindrić, Branka Dimitrijević, Dalila Zubčević, Davor Senečić, Mirna Pedalo, Mladen Jadrić, Miriam Volić, Nikola Bašić, Sabina Tanović, Selma Harrington, Semir Zubčević, and Vladimir Krstić. Through essays and reflections, they explore how architectural education can serve as a bridge between theoretical research and practical application, addressing the increasingly complex demands of contemporary society and global context.
The value of this special issue is further enriched by the contributions of two esteemed reviewers: Dr. Aida Abadžić Hodžić, Full Professor at the Department of Art History, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, and Dr. Maroje Mrduljaš, architect, critic, and theorist of architecture and design.
