As part of the “APLE Pilot Studio” program in collaboration with the Federal Institute for Monument Protection, students are trained to address real-world challenges in the field of heritage preservation. The project aims to equip students with practical skills through the documentation of existing conditions and the development of intervention proposals for the portals along Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street, with a particular focus on buildings of Secession period.
In this project, students work on documenting portals, identifying damages, and creating proposals for restoration and intervention. Fieldwork includes investigating the condition of the structures, drawing, cataloging, recording instances of degradation and risk, and creating a catalog and technical documentation. As part of the program, students visited the ongoing restoration work on the entry portal of the Regional Museum in Visoko, where they observed the restoration process under the expert guidance of the Institute’s Director Robert Stergar and expert associate Azra Tunović.
The task is complex, as it involves research, damage detection, and the production of detailed drawings necessary for portal restoration. The objective of this project is to create comprehensive documentation and a catalog that will serve as a foundation for future interventions.
