The event Day of Green Design in Sarajevo was held on June 14, 2023, with a focus on the role of design in the circular economy. It was organized in cooperation with UNDP, GTB Laboratory, and the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo.
GREEN DESIGN BIENNALE is a dynamic multidisciplinary platform that connects designers, architects, urban planners, ICT experts, and engineers from around the world every two years. Its goal is to promote new design principles and solutions that respect the ecological systems our planet. The GDB was created by the President of the Green Design Foundation (SGDF), Dr. Elma Durmisevic, the creator of the Innovation Park for circular/regenerative architecture in Southeast Europe (Green Design Centre Mostar), with the aim of strengthening awareness and scientific capacity to support the transition to a circular economy. After Banja Luka and Tuzla, Sarajevo is the third stop of Green Design (after the Green Design Biennale Mostar in 2022). Visitors had the opportunity to participate in the Green Design Biennale Day panel discussion on design and the circular economy (organized by SGDF and UNDP), see the International Exhibition dedicated to Circular Architecture in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, an exhibition of student workshops, and attend the Green Fashion Show by designer Naida Vilić.
